The “Universal Lid” kit has instructions for converting the
standard three vent cap bases, into a very functional fume
extractor. The kit is complete with stainless steel screws, bug
screen and a water sealant collar.
- Package dimensions: 10.5 in x 6.5 in.
- Total packaged weight: approximately 1/3 lb Most
standard bases are constructed of light gauge plastics that
are easily damaged by the suns UV’s.
In some cases it is not feasible to secure the lid due to
brittle broken down plastic. If a base is still pliable with no
visible sealant cracks, the Universal lid will enable that base
to function within 75 % as the “360 Siphon”, as well as protect
the base and seal from the sun due to its wide diameter
overhang.

Note:
If the existing cap base is not pliable, has either cracks or is
brittle (due to age and the sun) or if the seal to the roof has
deteriorated, do not attempt to attach the Siphon lid. The risk
of water seeping thru a weathered vent base or seal is not worth
it. If this is the case, it’s a good time to replace the
complete unit, and properly reseal to the roof. The complete
“360 Siphon” fume extractor, is available. Vent base
modification requires a little work, involving a hack saw,
filing, drilling into plastic and gluing. If you are not sure,
consult your local RV dealer. |
